Change password

Hi just got a playbook off my son inlaw and had to change the password to get into it followed the instruction and all went well set up email and wifi then closed it down to do other things went back to it  and it want except the password so I can't get into it at all can some one help pleas been at it for half a day now looked it up on web don't work tried to do a factory reset don't work can you help pleas driving me made  thank you:Clap::Shifty:

what you described is not how I understand Playbook. Which password?

You have to remember the correct password. There's no way around it.

Thanks for that but I no the password but it want take it  I have tried a reset but that don't seem to work it doing  nothing all I can do is turn it on and it says password not recognized ??????:Clap:

What password did you reset, or think you reset.

 

Please be clear, is this your SECURITY password on the lockscreen?

Or is the BlackBerryID?

The password I am referring to is the one to open it to get into it to start seeing it I am on 9 attempts  just wont open thank you for taken the time to help me

That would be the security password.

 

Often users who have multiple numerals in their password will only press the ALT key for the first numeral and not those following, so for instance, if your password were "1234", you might have been pressing "Alt 1234" on the device, which makes the actual password to be "1ers".

Does that make sense? Does it sound familar to your usage?

So check the way you enter your password on the device... do you think you are entering multiple numbers but actually are not?

In other words, if you have multiple consecutive numbers in your password, you have to press Alt before each number

On a playbook? I don’t have an Alt, but I have 123sym, though all password fields bring up the extra number row anyway. Puzzled.

just one more attempt and it will security wipe, you will be able set it up again as new, and your problems will be over.

 

You will lose your data but as it's just been handed over there should not be much data to lose.
