Downgrade 2.1.0.560 Beta

Hi

I intalled 2.1.0.560 Beta on to my PB for some experimentation on usb keyboard localization.

Once done (unsuccessfully), I want to downgrade to newwest 2.0.1 available. The 2.1 Beta is still buggy in some department (mail, virtual keyboard, and others) which is normal, being a Beta version.

Does anybody know the way to do so?

Re: Downgrade 2.1.0.560 Beta

You have to do a security wipe on your PlayBook but before doing this create a backup on your computer, then using the BlackBerry. desktop manager connect your tab with a usb cable and keep your playbook switched off then on the computer screen a software upgrade 2.0.1.358 will appear then follow the instructions on the screen.

This answer is more likely to be correct.

Thank you, I'll try it and I'll let you know.

Thanks

[ Edited ]

Ooops! I have a big problem.

After backup, wiping and loading the 2.0.1, I cannot restore as the desktop manager says: Incompatible BB Tables OS. The software version for your BB Playbook is incomptable with the data in this backup file. To continue, update your BB tablet os.

Soooooo.... Cannot downgrade!! or my data and apps are lost!

Ideas?

Re: Downgrade 2.1.0.560 Beta

This solution doesn't work anymore.

I receive an error in the middle of the process - A:0x000000A2.

I'm struggling to find a safe way to downgrade, but the best source of information seems to be

http://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-tablet-os-f228/playbook-error-debrick-security-wipe-anroid-n...

It's a shame devs have to endure such shaddy tutorials, just to try particular versions of the OS.

Unfortunatelly I've upgraded to 2.1.0.8.. and some of my clients report a bug that I can't reproduce on 2.1 and I must downgrade.

I hope I won't brick my PB while downgrading :smileyhappy:

Re: Downgrade 2.1.0.560 Beta

Update:

SUCCES!

I haven't bricked my PB and everything works smooth.

I followed this instructions:

http://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-tablet-os-f228/playbook-error-debrick-security-wipe-anroid-n...

the OS file I got from here: http://cdn.fs.sl.blackberry.com/fs/qnx/production/1931e9758756ed092260fe451fc2f71e44245f5a/qcfm.imag...

I left the file intact, just copied it to FIRMWARE/Custom from dingleberry's root directory.
