Not trying to be obtuse but I was positive that the Playbook had a slot for a micro SD card and, now that I have one it's looking a whole lot like it doesn't...
Was I dreaming all these months? or is there some other trick to adding capacity? or is there none at al?

Oh. Now that's a bit of a shame since I was looking forward to loading up a ton of music onto an SD card but not tragic since I having been doing ok with only 16gb on an iphone for years now
Not sure why I was so sure the PB had a card slot - maybe it's a standard feature on the BB phones?
Thanks for the answer. Much appreciated!

Not trying to be obtuse either, but I suppose you could have definately found out if you would have looked at the specs before purchasing it![]()

Gates of speech, Gene.. gates of speech. ;-)

Its not so much "gates of speech", but a little pre-planning or info search before making a purchase

Thanks for the lecture. Frankly, seems to me it's not that unusual for someone to not invest a huge amount of time in detailed specs when they decide to pick up a Playbook for a hundred bucks all in roughly six months ago... but whatever. It's the internet and heckling goes with the territory. That said, since the post was marked solved before you felt compelled to comment, maybe you could bestow your advice more constructively on an open ticket instead.

This is like dangling cheese infront of a starving mouse but look at this thread:

Picture adding a USB card reader or thumb drive onto it...
This is called USBOTG (USB On the Go) and it was possible with a rooted PlayBook back in the early days. Since Feb 2012 it is no longer possible (OS 2.0 and above). You ran the risk of damaging your PB also and it invalidated your warranty. By the way you could actually buy the Micro USB OTG adapter for $1.43 through Monoprice.com but it won't do you any good at the moment ( http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id
Constructively, you could perhaps form a petition somewhere/somehow and let us all know where to sign it. If you could gain enough momentum, perhaps there would be a snowballs chance in Hades of this ability becoming part of an official OS.
For now though, me posting that only serves as a giant tease...
