Re: Duplicate entries in App World - My World?

I haven't used any of the Dev Mode options on my device, so I don't think it depends on that.. Just an FYI..

The only apps I have had it happen with are Xtrem Snowboarding and Defense Station, both of which had version updates recently. That could be related..

Re: Duplicate entries in App World - My World?

If the application is uninstalled/reinstalled the duplication issue goes away? Is this correct?

Yes, in my case, that is correct.

Re: Duplicate entries in App World - My World?

It has happening to me only for the last few weeks. It involves several apps but usually the same ones. The reason is the the update does not take finally place and the prompt for the upgrade reappears for the failed app. There has no successful upgrade on any app recently. With time it happens to more apps as none is being upgraded. It appears to be a RIM server problem.

Re: Duplicate entries in App World - My World?

I assume if you uninstall-reinstall, you'd lose whatever data was entered?  In my case, an RSS reader.  I don't really want to go through the pain of re-entering the sites using the goofy method that Glimpse requires...

beerock,

Why don't you load your RSS feeds on google reader, and then download GeeReader?

+1 on beerock's suggestion. GeeReader is a really nice app and some great new features are coming soon also..

Re: Duplicate entries in App World - My World?

I could install something different (I'm also trying out 'Feed Wheel', which includes Google abilities), but my concern is how to deal with the duplicate application problem in general, without losing any data associated with that application.  I'm assuming that uninstalling and re-installing will wipe that data..

I can guaranty you that, if you un-install an apps, it does also delete the data.

I am using "Shopping List", to well keep a shoping list handy, and when an update came out about a week ago, it did the double entry, and since the deleting and then re-installing the apps worked before I did it as well and when I restarted the "Shopping List" everything was lost
