Re: E-mail duplications

Ahhh. Gotcha. Good test.

with Wifi off and the Playbook Bridged to my Blackberry the native mail client still kicks up the same errors. So you are correct it is not a wifi issue. Good find. I will fwd this to RIM

Thanks!

Re: E-mail duplications

I still get the same if using the bluetooth connection or wifi hotspot connection with the native e-mail using my phone.

Re: E-mail duplications

Has anyone tried using bridge email client to see if they get duplicates? I sent one an hour ago and got a phone call from the guy asking why I sent it 3 times.

Here's what I've done-

-wifi connection using native client

-bridge connection using native client

-bridge client

All 3 gave duplicates.

Re: E-mail duplications

i do not get duplicates using the bridge client on my PB, nor do i get duplicates if i use my BB to send emails directly. Do you get duplicates if you send directly from your BB or only through the bridge client on PB

Re: E-mail duplications

I should add that it is with my work email that goes through BES.

I am not aware of any duplication using my BB, that's why I thought I could use the Bridge client to send email. Apparently not.

Re: E-mail duplications

After contacting RIM through all of this, they have identified this as an issue with some PlayBooks and are investigating the problem. So, they will work on it and hopefully relase an update once they figure out exactly what is going on.

My ticket with them has been closed. I will not be receiving any more updates from them.

I guess we wait......

Re: E-mail duplications

I ran my tests again and got different results.

Test 1- wifi disabled sent email through Bridge, no duplications

Test 2- wifi enabled sent email through Native client, 7 duplications

Test 3- used BB as hotspot, sent email through Native client, no duplications.

Re: E-mail duplications

No problem. I just recived confirmation that the ticket was closed and it was sent for investigation:

Details:

BlackBerry PlayBook 2.0.1.358 - Unable to send integrated email

Resolution:

dev task 3482758

I agree that hopefully the numbers with this problem is sufficient enough that it warrants an update. I must say that RIM support was helpful through all of this and were willing to take it seriously. kudos to them.
