I brought a Playbook over the weekend & I'm pleased with it apart from one thing.

Once I load a game from facebook, it then shuts the browse down after about a minute, it seams I can get so far before it shuts down

Can someone help or explain what I'm doing wrong ??

I believe the answer is not going to be a good one for you.

The reaosn these games are causing issues is due to Flash.  Adobe Flash based games (CityVille, FarmVille, etc) actually take a large amount of processing power from a standard laptop or desktop.

As an example, when I play Indian Jones Adventure Wolrd on my desktop, the Flash plugin uses 500MB RAM and 23% of my CPU.  This is on a modern, Quad-Core system!

Now think of the PlayBook.  Much much less power than what I am using.

More or less, this is the whole "downside to flash on a tablet" argument.  It may work for embedded video players or simple flash websites.... but Flash based games are pigs, and sadly will most likely never run on a tablet.

when i played mafia wars, it had a memory leak and would use up my whole 6 gig of ram.

there are quite a few of these issues with facebook games posted all over the internet

So are you saying that I can play games from facebook but there is problem at the moment

I believe knotty is stating that people report issues with FB games due to various issues.

I can guarantee you that if the game uses Flash (once again, CityVille, FarmVille... Zynga games) they will never, ever work.

I've owned a PlayBook since the day it came out and never once have I been successful at running Flash based Zynga games.

I have read it that you can, some say you have to download the facebook desktop version. I have also seen a few youtube videos that show you can

Just going from my experience.  Using FaceBook in the web browser (the actuall PlayBook app doesn't support games at all)

I've had more than one flash based game crash the web browser.

I'm in IT and deal with technology on a daily basis, so my thoughts and feelings are from real world experience and knwoledge of the technology.

If you can get it to work, even better!

Cityville and farmville are poorly coded ram hogs. They run slowly on most desktops, so there is little hope for the playbook.

SO why do they run well on dweeb dvices, like Android an Apple phones?  They don't have the processing power.

I play games on Facebook but not the big games just Doubledown Casino, Luckygem casino, Caesars Casino, Zynga Slingo and Bingo Blitz.  Some games are slower then on a PC but I have fun with.
