I updated my playbook and now I can't view videos on fox. It says that the media cannot be decoded. It worked before the update. Any ideas?

Post a link to a fox video so others can try it. Mine is fine on bbc and youtube, both use flash.

That is just one link but they all of the videos say decode error.

After I posted last night I also noticed that the cnn videos don't work either

I tried Fox's videos as linked to and indeed they do not load.
However, CNN videos do load and start to play on my tablet but I have received a few errors saying "There was a problem playing this video". You can access CNN videos from this URL: http://www.cnn.com/video/
For the record, sports videos on http://www.tsn.ca do load and play and they're Flash video also.
One last thing, videos on YouTube these days aren't necessarily Flash videos anylonger but are most likely HTML5 videos (thanks to the many iPads and iPods of the world - which don't HAVE Flash installed unless you work around that somehow). HTML5 has a video tag in it which the PlayBook's web browser handles just fine and you'd never notice unless you ran into a decoding error like you have with this update. PlayBook's browser is very HTML5 standards compliant (and will improve in the BB 10 OS) http://html5test.com/results/tablet.html.
Long story short, there does appear to be some Flash problems with both CNN's site (they stop playing after a while and give an error) and Fox's videos (they just don't play at all).

any fix that you can think of? why would they not work?
Unfortunately, I do not have a fix to offer you at this time but it's something that is definitely going to affect many people and so there will be more reports in short order. It has been only 24 hours since the update was released publicly in non beta status and we're just starting to see some of its effects (Calendar/Contact sync problems and now this).
If I come across some information relating to this I will follow-up with what I find. I often browse the www.crackberry.com forums and I'll see if there are any threads relating to this over there.
One thing I didn't try was the built in YouTube app itself. I was using the web browser. If it's possible, it would be nice to repeat the test with the YT application. The YT app tends to be more problematic than the browser by the way.

Yup, same thing on two Playbooks here. I'd swap SMS for reliable news vidwo viewing. Seems sort of hit or miss, CNN and nbcnews.com seem to work, but Fox news video clips, no.
Had no trouble in beta 2.1.x.

I think that the Flashplayer was upgraded recently and I find it harder to play my Facebook games. I think the Flashplayer that BlackBerry uses is never upgraded to what other browsers on a PC has.
I wish you would update your Flashplayer for the playbook.
Thanks

Both my fiancee and I have the same problem (video error on Fox, etc.) wherein they don't play and we receive an error message. Hopefully a fix is in the works. There are a lot of news (and other web sites) that are affected.
