Re: Get BlackBerry Bridge for your BlackBerry

Bridge v2.1.0.24 has proved to be disastrous on my Bold 9780.

After updating to Bridge v2.1.0.24 on my 9780 and checking that it worked OK with my Playbook (with OS 2.1), the 9780 battery is draining at a spectacular rate.

I tried pulling the battery to do a reboot and it made no difference.

Over the weekend, i did not make any calls, WiFi was off, Bluetooth was off, there were just a couple of incoming e-mails - the battery is in the red zone by evening from full-charge in the morning.

Normally, my battery hardly ever goes below half-charge, even after several days of light use.

I deleted Bridge v2.1.0.24 and the battery drain is back to normal.

I would really like to know what is happening with this and get it fixed.

Re: Get BlackBerry Bridge for your BlackBerry

I would suggest that you re-install .24 again and keep an eye on the battery drain.

Re: Get BlackBerry Bridge for your BlackBerry

Thank you for the suggestion.

I have re-installed Bridge on my 9780 and will see what happens.

I have a feeling that the battery drain did not start until after I had run Bridge, so I will leave it overnight before running Bridge.

Re: Get BlackBerry Bridge for your BlackBerry

I can confirm that Bridge v2.1.0.24 is causing significant additional battery drain on my BB 9780.

I appreciate that the standard battery level indication is not precise, but with v24 installed, my battery is losing approximately 5% - 7.5% charge per hour.  this is with WiFi and Bluetooth switched off, only the defult apps running and very little phone use.

With v24 deleted (for a second time, as I wanted to double-check), the battery level has remained at 90% for the last 2 and a half hours, with just a few incoming e-mails.

Re: Get BlackBerry Bridge for your BlackBerry

This is really wierd.

I installed Bridge v24 for a 3rd time and the 9780 battery is down only 10% after 6 hours, which is obviously good.

The only difference this time is that I have had the phone and Playbook bridged via Bluetooth for several hours.

Can it be possible that Bridge is using more power when it is not connected?
