Is it ok for the playbook battery if I turn the playbook off when I dont use it from 3-4 hours or more, just standby when I dont use for a short time (under 3 hours) and when charging overnight? I have this question because my friend (using playbook for a long time) tells me that standby the playbook for a long time will make it hot.
Thanks for all your help.

There is a danger here of paranoia about playbooks battery.
Both my playbooks are regularly run down to the point where the warning message shows which is 10% or less and several times has powered down automatically at 5%. it goes into standby automatically after 5 minutes and stays there all day if necessary.
But mine stays at home on wifi. All I would say is if you are on the move and away from wifi you may as well switch on Flight Mode to save heavy usage searching for a signal when thete is no need. That would make it hot.
In my opinion, if a playbook battery dies it's a malfunction of a small sample of Playbooks or damage to charge socket that goes unnoticed until too late.
There is no need to get worried to this extent. 40% is by no means a minimum charge level.

Thank you for the information that there is a warning when the battery gets low. I did not know that. From the reading of some of the problems regarding charging I thought that the machine just powered down without warning. Your are right about the paranoia regarding charging. There must be only a small percentage who have problems, but it does seem more as the people with problems do go to the forum and post, those without do not.
Thanks again.

Yes, that is perfectly acceptable use. I rarely ever even turn my PlayBook off.
