How to video chat between Playbook and a laptop ?

[ Edited ]

Hi, for my work, I need to know how to video chat between a Playbook and a a windows laptop.

I've heard rumours of a Skype App for Playbook coming, but until that happens I need a better solution.

The Playbook video app would be great, but we need to conference between a PB and a laptop, not just between PB and PB.

I've tried using http://imo.im and although it works, it's clumsy and the quality is not very good.  I can get it to work, but it's too difficult for someone like my boss to get it to work.

Next week, our company is sending a colleague on a business trip with BlackBerry Torch and Playbook in hand.  The most important thing is for that colleague to broadcast video from his Playbook.  We can use a phone for audio if we have to.  Is there any way to use the Playbook to stream video to the internet?  Any BlackBerry phones that would work?

Are there any other solutions out there?  I hate to say it, but I'm a little frustrated.  It's such a shame to have to carry around a laptop just for a video call when you are already carrying a tablet.  If the Playbook doesn't let us have video conferences with the office back home, we'll have to look at other products that will work.

Thanks for your help.

Apologies if this is what you linked to... I cannot open the link on my office PC.

Have you tried the ReelPortal app?  This should be able to cover both of your needs: it allows video chat between Playbook and PC, and essentially broadcasts the video chat to a site.  (I have not attempted to capture the broadcast).  It's not the prettiest app out there, but does what you're looking for.
