I have accidently deleted my Android folder!

Can my data be recovered (photos, music, videos)?

Re: I have accidently deleted my Android folder!

Do you have a backup, made to your PC via the BlackBerry Desktop Software?

How did you delete the android folder? All of your photos etc should still be in the regular PlayBook shared folders.

Just a thought.

The photos in the Android folder are aliases, i.e. another route to the same files, so although not taking up room, if you delete them they will delete the actual photos. Some people think they are duplicates and try to delete them to "make room".

As jsanders is suggesting, backups will be the only place to recover them.

Re: I have accidently deleted my Android folder!

Well not strictly true.

The folders are symlinks and if you just delete the folders then the files should remain.

Hence I asked *how* they were deleted.

Re: I have accidently deleted my Android folder!

Well, we've had that discussion in other threads. No need to repeat it all again.

The OP simply needs to answer a couple of our questions.

Re: I have accidently deleted my Android folder!

Well, inside the Android folder I had a folder with Photos, and another with Music. I've deleted both of these folders (thinking they were duplicate, like you said).

I'm trying to run a Photo Recovery software, but it is not recognizing my PlayBook as a drive to scan... even though I am connected and can browse through the contents....

Re: I have accidently deleted my Android folder!

Right, that makes sense.

Unfortunately, when you connect your PlayBook to a PC - it detects the PlayBook drive as a network drive, not a physical one.

As such, no data recovery software will work.

So back to JSanders' reply - you can only rewcover from backups now I'm afraid.

You never answered the question (that I see)... you never ever backed up your device?
