My Device: Blackberry Bold 9900 and Blackberry Playbook

My Blackberry Playbook and my Blackberry Bold 9900 keeps disconnecting from my laptop!

Hi!

 

I have been trying to perform an update on my Playbook but it keeps disconnecting from my laptop; as does my Blackberry Bold 9900.

 

I have been looking on the forum and have tried several of the fixes, including pulling the battery out.  However, as I'm sure you can imagine, this is impossible for the Playbook!

 

I need some help because, no matter what cable I use, both devices continue to disconnect!  And now my Playbook has become unaccessible due to disconnection during an update!

Can you try using a different USB port on the Laptop?

 

Do you have the Desktop Software installed on the laptop?

I'm afraid I have tried all of the USB ports and, yes, I do have desktop manager on my laptop and version 7.1 at that!

Can you not perform an update from the PlayBook without your laptop?

I'd hazard a guess that there's a problem with your USB cable not staying connected. I'd try another cable first of all.

Failing that, a powered USB hub might fix it. This allows power from the mains to connect to USB devices instead of relying solely on the laptop's power. Unlikely, but possible.

Are you using an up-to-date version of Windows? Check Windows Update.

If you can, try to use another computer just to be sure.

Actually, I do have a USB hub.  I'll give it a go and let you know how that goes.

 

Unfortunately, until I update the Playbook, I cannot even turn the thing on!
