New to Blackberry Playbook - questions....

Hello

I've just bought a Playbook 64GB - primarily because the reviews stated that the quality was good (it is!) and it is suitable for business use (it seems to be.)

My main reasons (my must have reasons) for buying it was to hve ssh access to my server (working - am happy), a code editor (haven't found a synatc highlighting one yet???)  and access to email (working but, that's a problem!)

I now need to be able to password protect access to some applications - is that in any way possible?

I really don't want anyone to be able to pickup/steal my Playbook and get acces to my emails, for example.

I sthere some way to password protext cerating applications on the Playbook 64GB?

My kindest regards

Re: New to Blackberry Playbook - questions....

The only thing that will protect the emails app once you have set up one or more accounts is the Playbook security password which is requested on boot up or on awake from standby. It is not hackable as far as I know but you do need to either press lock, or have the lock occur on standby with a short "lock after" time set.

More tham 10 bad password attempts will security wipe the playbook

Thanks Jarviser

Guess I'm stuck for application protection then?

Just out of interest, what language are Blackberry apps written in?

Is there an SDK?

Kind regards Keith

There is also data encryption available but this would be across the whole device. Just don't forget the password.

Thanks, Lost at Sea

It was more to stop casual browsers accessing my mail and other key apps.

I guess I'll just have to password protect the device.

Cheers
