How can I force a web site to not render as a mobilized version but render in the full version? This support forum is a prime example.
When I open this sit on the PB it opens in the mobile version. Yes, scroll to the bottom to tap on Full but when I sign out it reverts back to the mobile version. I would rather always be in the full site. The same goes for other sites and sites that will never load as the full version no matter how I type in the URL.
Why is the PB detected as a phone instead of a tablet with full web capabilities?
And no I don't want Chrome or Safari on my Playbook.

this is being addressed in OS 2 whcih is coming this month
but this is not a promise on all sites, some will still come up as mobile until the webmaster changes a few detection settings.

Thanks KRope, I do know about lazy er shoddy, um poor web site development that fails to properly detect the browser or trap errors.
I think I was aware of this being addresed in OS 2 as best they can, but I just wanted to air my disappointment to all of the web developers that do not commit to user friendly webs or have a hair for their own brand of hardware/OS/browser.
The question to ask anyone who is over zealous about their preferences in stuff is to ask them what kind of car do they drive? Then ask them to wonder why most of the rest of the world doesn't drive what they drive?

Here is a way to keep it from happening. When you are at the full version, add it to the bookmarks or homescreen. As long as you click that, you will access full website versions until OS 2.0 arrives.

My understanding is this is less of an OS issue as (for this Forum) an issue for Lithium, the software which operates this forum. Lithium is aware of the issue and hopefully has it on a burner for fixing.

I drive a 4x4 truck so I can haul stuff, move trailers and get to point B in any weather. Cars are fun until there is FOOT of snow, mud or water on the ground/roads.
