Auto-suggest helps you quickly narrow down your search results by suggesting possible matches as you type.
To complete the initial setup, you need wifi access to the internet. There's no way around this.
If you're just trying to get BlackBerry Bridge working, then you should be able to just download Bridge on your 9800 from AppWorld. On the PlayBook, go into options > BlackBerry Bridge and you should be able to setup a new connection there.
