I live in India. I use a BB bold 9900. I was gifted a playbook by my cousin, who had purchased it in Canada.
After completing the registration, the device auto checks for an update. But despite repeated tries, the update does not get downloaded. I am unable to proceed further and use the device. This is a 16GB playbook, and does not have a SIM card slot.
1. Can I load the update through the desktop manager?
2. DO I need to be in a WIFI zone whenever I use my playbook?
My service provider is Airtel India
I am on AT&T. Please edit your Personal Profile with your DEVICE TYPE, DEVICE OS and Carrier

you need to be on wifi for initial setup and get the OS update of about 300 meg or so.
You will need wifi for appworld but many apps on it will run with BlackBerry Bridge once paired to your BlackBerry phone.
