I've just bought a Playbook and installed the lates OS. When I went to Blackberry World to install some apps, they seem to download and install fine but then sit in limbo and won't open. This has happened to 3 free apps now.
could you please let us know the apps you have downloaded and if there was an error message while downloading or installing. What do you mean by limbo? The logo svreen or a black screen?.
The apps I installed are the Blackberry Tutorial, The Belgium Zip Code Lookup and a Soltaire Game.
The apps are visible on the App World screen as installed. But no icon appears anywhere else. Touching the app in the App World menu only provides a description. There is no loss of functionality with the rest of the Playbook.
It might be your apps weren't downloaded completely or those aoos were broken before you install them. MY recommendation is try download them again and see if it's working this time, they are free anyway Good luck
Sorry if I'm being simple-minded, but when you install a new app, it's icon is placed out of sight near the bottom of the opening page (the one that shows all your pre-installed apps). To get to your new app, you need to swipe up so you can see the bottom of the page.

I just got back from Staples/Business Depot, where I bought the Playbook. They were able to do as John said. I was not able to do this myself at home. Go figger.
