Adding video chat is a good start in the right direction unfortunate it's forcing us to rely on other people to have PB and none of the peopel I know have nor will purchase a PB...once again RIM is manipulating the the use of tablet to be strickly RIM products...
I seriosuily hope that RIM address this issue and develops teh PB as a true independant platform which can be used by millions rather than a few 1000 people. I can understand why RIM is going this route but to hit the mass market the product needs to be accessible to alarger audience.

This is actually a good thing for me and my company. We are looking to implement the PB companywide and one feature that was a major factor was video chat.
Look for an invite from me. Name will have something to do with Vader.

Has anyone gotten this to work? I have a co-worker who also has a PB, and when I enter his BBID ( taken from his Playbook), I get "Unable connect to server", and he gets "The person you called is currently unavailable".
We both connected to the same Wireless Lan, and sit across from each other....

Just finished a voice chat with Vader, the conectiuon was excllent via WiFi. we did not try out video.
a few things to note.
1. no contacts list when being called (Vader called me so he is not added to any contract list) if I need to call him I have to enter his eamil addres...
2. no group chat
3. adjsutiing audio while conenct is sloooooooooooow had to hold down the vol button for at least 5 seconds to initate the volume ocntrol
What need to be changed
1. have contact list either auto add (either being called or recieving call)
2. a conact list...don't know if there is a contact lsit or not
we are going to ry bridge connection later today

Vader,
I still am getting a "Unable to connect to Server". I am beginning to think that the app has not installed properly on my PB. I think I will try to see if support can help.

found the contact lsit, but I had to add the user.

editing the contact list is easy swipe down from the top hit edit and tap the ciontact to edit. unfortunate the app does not allow my own avatar to be added....
the next version should allow us to add out own avatar and have have it so that it's saved in the contact lsit of another device
