Perserverance is key when calling RIM Tech Support. Be calm, professional and courteous.State that this has happened multiple times (for me, three).
They tried to just walk me through an OS reinstall and I told them that I had already done that and still had the same result. I also informed them that I tried the 'Stack Charge' method and while initially successful, I encountered the same problem a few weeks later.
While courteous and polite, I stated that anything other than an RMA to repair or replace this PB under warranty was unacceptable. I also stated that I paid for a reliable unit, I expected a reliable unit, but that, at present, I do not have a reliable unit.
They approved the RMA, overnighted me a mailer via Fedex, and my unit is back in the Fedex system thisafternoon to Tennessee to be repaired/replaced.
Hope this helps,
czar

Your idea makes a lot of sense. I tried it but it doesn't work. I connect my PlayBook with power charger and tried to start it by pressing the POWER ON/OFF button (hold it down for 10,20,30, and more seconds) and nothing happens

even 5 hours is reasonable but my PB CAN NOT even boot up.

I had this problem ... just the red light for a few seconds, then it faded off. I tried everything suggested in this thread (uninstalling and reinstalling the desktop sotware, pressing an holding power button repeatedly, holding down the three buttons, plugging into the laptop, plugging in with the original charger... everything!) with no luck and had just about given up - especially when even the sad little red light no longer showed up when i plugged it in
I am not exactly sure what did the trick - I left it plugged in with the original playbook charger for about two days, and I occasionally unplugged it for 15 seconds or so, and plugged it back in ... whenever I thought about it. Not sure if that gave it enough of boost to start charging, but one time when I picked it up to unplug it again, it was back to normal, with all my books loaded etc.

What's the OS version you guys have on your tablets please, it's important so I can pass along this to RIM.
Thanks
