Yes, there have been multiple posts in this thread, and other threads, with working solutions.
Which solutions have you tried and what failed?

The power button / volume up/volume down, plus all these other magic work-arounds RIM and its advisors keep coming up with are a load of **bleep**.
A **bleep** shoot that it may work; and that's the fundamental problem - these solutions don't work for everyone and for those they don't work for are in possession of defective machines. I don't give a toss what RIM may say.
My first Playbook went through this issue of not holding a charge and their customer support made me go through their various reboot dances - some of which last better than thirty minutes of me pushing their power button up and down and counting to 120. Give me a break; what kind of a reboot has a ten-step process - the Apollo program?
They finally admitted it was defective, collected it, kept it for twelve weeks before I reminded them they had it and eventually replaced it.
Now it doesn't work again and of course if I want this one sorted out I have to option their 'incident-support' avenue which, by the way, is paid support. I don't think so, RIM.
I was a Blackberry user ten years ago and was looking forward to their newest phone in 2013, but they've just set themselves back with me as a new consumer.
Bells and whistles, RIM. Bells and whistles. This whole community should be angry.
My first and last post (breathe a sigh of relief RIM... you don't have to do anything).

I'd encourage you to call your FREE support number and explain this. I've seen numerous users get RMA's devices and/or repairs for the issue you're having, after the warranty period.
Good luck!

RIM will not breath anything after your remarks as they rarely come here and will never read your rant.
You just hacked off the best support you might have enjoyed - fellow users and sufferers.

Apparently the 'best support' has yet to arrive...
A 65 page thread and, including myself, people are still searching for a solution.

We have so few trolls visit here.
You're not here looking for help, you're not here to assist others, and you're not in the least friendly.
So what's your point now, you've had your say.

My point being I'm on my second Playbook that's experienced this problem.
And, other than BlackBerry collecting it later this week to replace it with my third, you lot are about to flip to your 66th page of navel-gazing on a push-button, volume-down work-around that doesn't work longer-term.
Alert me when this page hits 100...
