Buying this was the biggest waste of money I have ever made. I guess I am lucky I only lost $700. I would NEVER buy another Blackberry product again. It worked for less than a week and I have never been able to get it to turn back on.

I actually went into a store and asked to try a different playbook charger! and nope, didn't work.
Actually, it can work. And it has worked for dozens that I have helped in this forum.
Will it work for you... I don't know. It should, with prolonged charging and patience, it should and has for so many others.
Trying it with another charger in a store for 15-20 minutes probably won't fix it.
Using the magnetic rapid charger that's been mentioned in this thread several times, helps a great deal.

Dawn, have you tried any of the many suggestions made in this thread?

No. I just made them take another charger out of a box (looked the same as the one I have which came with the tablet). Are you saying IF I shell out more $$ for a different kind of charger this tablet might actually be usable? Not sure I'm willing to invest more in this product, given it's track record so far.

Ok. and they let you take it home, and you've charged for several hours (24+) during which time you pressed the power button for 20 seconds and ... what? no LED, nothing?

As JSanders said, If it went completely dead, plugging it in for a moment won't do any good. It will need to charge for quite a while to bring it back from a completely dead battery.
In my opinion, the magnetic charger should have shipped with every Playbook sold. However, it didn't so it is what it is. The magnetic rapid charger saves LOTS of wear and tear on the USB port. I use it almost exclusively. I do the same thing with my BlackBerry Smartphones and use a charging pod that doesn't use the USB port whenever possible.

Yea, I know, and it can make me look as silly as the troll.. But I have many more worthwhile posts to my credit to overcome a few tossed aside to the troll.
