Mine did, I have just resetted it for several times and now it's 18% charged so I will keep on doing that (plug in, unplug, reset) and hopefully I will pass those 20% and manage to finally charge it. I've been doing that since this morning (about 5 h). Maybe it will work for you too. Good luck

Great, OanaEBorham, good luck. Yes, it is a chore, but it works for most users.

I feel sorry for the forum contributors that are trying to help us with these problems, clearly they are doing it on their own time and not for their personal benefit, so it is a mistake to attack them or treat them rudely (and I'm guilty of that to an extent too...)
It is just SAD that RIM hasn't made a better attempt to address this issue...it is clear that this is a common problem
yet you never see any official advice on how to deal with it, nothing in the knowledge base,
Thank you, apothecare. Much appreciated. As you say, just an attempt to help others mostly with first-hand knowledge of what's worked for us.
Regarding the lack of RIM support:
Read this:
Article ID: KB27705 BlackBerry PlayBook Power - Battery charge and discharge characteristics
Article ID: KB26667 Battery and power guide for the BlackBerry PlayBook
Article ID: KB26855 The BlackBerry PlayBook tablet battery drains faster than normal or has irregular fluctuations in the battery level
And in addition, RIM is beta testing OS 2.1 for the PlayBook. And I personally think they've been beta testing it way too long, yes, but that's not my department! However, that said, I upgraded one of my PlayBook's just three weeks ago to the 2.1OS beta, and the battery life is simply REMARKABLE. I've never seen it better. So, it does appear that RIM is addressing it. Slowly. It could come quicker.

After much searching I found the solution to my charging problem in a totally different area.
Check that the micro usb charging cable is inserted the correct way round (logo upwards) See KB28112
In my case the socket internals had moved allowing the connector to be only inserted upside down. I moved the plastic tag in the socket downwards using an insulated tool (no metal - VERY IMPORTANT!) which then allowed the connector to be inserted the correct way round. All is now charging nicely.
This may help solve some of the problems people have found.

Interesting...
I was not aware that the connector to the Playbook or phone could be forced in up-side down. I was under the impression it was not of the same shape on both the upper and lower sides.

I looked at my Playbook and the socket appears to be the exact same as on my 9900 Bold. I cannot insert the connector the wrong way, or up-side-down.
The magnetic quick charge connector is interesting. It can be attached (surface-snap-fit) in either direction and work. This is because the center pin is common, and the two outside are alike. I found it is important to keep this connector clean from dust. If it gets any lint or dust on it, it will not make proper contact. There is no friction between the pin surfaces to keep it self cleaned as like in regular type connectors.

My Playbook Just won't boot. for me all the "The charging of the battery is from software so if you playbook die it's your problem" is not really an answer, and I start to be piss no wonder why this compagny is doing soooo bad theses days.
So My question is : I don't want to invest in a super duper more powerfull charger, if it's needed, then you need to provide us, the client, with everything needed to charge our playbook. So if someone have a better solution then plug it for 24hours without having to buy anything else, it's the time to say it.
I'll tell you what I will do, I will try to charge my playbook all night, then I will try to open it tomorrow and it's better open, cause right now i'm really mad at your compagny and I'm about to trash this compagny name all around me. Then I wil lgo back where I brought this piece of junk and change it for an android or even an ipad they don't seem to have this kind of flaw.
a very angry client.

If there is a problem with the device why not just return it to where you purchased it for an exchange? I have two PlayBooks (one mine, one my wife's) and we have had no problems with ours so every PlayBook isn't a piece of junk.

Does this symptom fall in that category?
connect to DM go through repair procedure and follow the disconnect process and the PB stays stuck and unresponsive on the Language set up page. It will not go past htis point. I've done all teh variations of the power doen it had been charging for two 24 hour periods on the wall charger, it is a muc heavyier guage cable then the USB cable.
PS: Please post teh number to customer service I have not had any success and are they open on sat/sun.?
Thanks regards,
