I just purchased a refurbished playbook. Upon initial startup and connecting to wifi it downloads the above update but while installing it quits at around 69% and says installation failed, retry or shut down and retry later. I've tried 3 times and right now trying for the 4th time. Each time it downloads again then stops on installation. What do I do. Can I connect to a pc and update? Version 1.0.8.6067 is listed as the current version but have never been past the initial startup. 4th try just failed at 69%.

Ever used an ipad...it has built in wifi txt....
This should not be a stretch for the pb....you don't need a mobile connection to text/sms anymore....
I have sideloaded a couple programs that do just that...so to have one available in the app world would not be out of place...
As far as this update goes....I see absolutely no change....did rim release a change log?

SimpleBrowser Plus seems to be having problems resolving dns addresses under 668.
Hotmail mobile server names and folder duplication bugs seem at the moment to be resolved but there is still time yet for folders to duplicate (12 hours)
It would be nice if this important thread started by a senior forum member could be kept for discussion of bugs and fixes in 668 and not off topic discussion about ipads and texting

And still no support for S/Mime encryption in Blackberry-Mail on the playbook.

Downloaded and installed; no discernible difference. Probably a maintenance release to support the upcoming mobile radio versions.

36 hours and no folder duplication in hotmail. I would have had six inboxes by now.
Just added another hotmail account and no need for the server name to be changed.
Looks like they fixed it.
Why don't they list the fixes in release notes, I wonder?

I guess in the mobile industry it is not fashionable to issue release notes or attaching a readme file. Just like the use of upper case characters and that useless time consuming 'common courtesy'. No time, no time.....the next release is coming....
Sad
We are here 24 hrs after the release and we still have still no idea what the changes are.

Godot, I don't know about it being "fashionable" or not. RIM has published release notes in the past some PB upgrades, so I guess it is fashionable when there's something worth releasing.
Here are some of the user comments I've noted.
How's that.
