No, they have not.

They also never really "announced" the release of .668 when it  released the first time.

Re: PlayBook OS v2.0.1.668 now available

I just read this posting about OSv2.0.1.668 being available.  When I check for updates, I'm told that I have the most recent version (2.0.1.358)  Can you tell me why I don't get prompted for the update?

Tempting - yet?  I did work with the OS2 beta. But this time I think I will wait a while. I really start to miss Skype.

Re: PlayBook OS v2.0.1.668 now available

I hope this post will help anyone still on 668. As I have reported a while back, I installed 668 when it was first released, it had what appeared to be major battery issues, plus over the days of using it I notice many additional calendars and many additional folders in the e-mail app

There were suggestions of doing a hard reset, (hold the power button for 15 seconds). This for me didn't help. However the update is now working brilliantly. Good battery life, good WiFi and so forth. What have I done?

I decided that the update must be doing something continually to run down the battery, at first I thought it was a WiFi problem, which may have had a slight bearing, but I am in fact certain now that it was a problem with the e-mail app. The more I checked it the more folders were being generated, it kept generating more folders and more calendars basically a loop, I have multi tasking switched on so it was continuously running. I tried to delete all the email addresses which of course you cannot do. So what you need to do is delete all but one addresses, then initialize a new address, then delete the last of the original addresses. Now you can re-initialize all of your email addresses

Having done that everything was back to normal. All my email folders were restored and OK, I have the correct number of calendars and there is no abnormal battery drain. Email was the only change so I am assuming this was the problem. It could also explain why some had problems and some don't since multi tasking may not be switched on or they may not be using folders within their email.

I hope this helps

What would be the advantage of downloading the OS 2.1 beta?

Re: PlayBook OS v2.0.1.668 now available

There are a few advanced features and functions in the beta 2.1. You can check the developer section of this forum for details and help on that, but this thread is not for discussion of the beta OS. Thanks for understanding, let's keep this topic on-topic.
