PlayBook WIFI drops connection

Hello All:

 

I saw some other posts about the same issue, but they were from last year and was hoping for some more recent suggestions.  My 32 GB PlayBook will drop wifi, and I have to turn off the wifi, turn it back on and reonnect. Then it works fine until the next time I put it to sleep and turn it back again later. 

 

None of my other devices (e.g., Z10, iPad, or iMac) have this problem, so it seems to be a PlayBook issue.

 

Any suggestions?

Hello. Please try to reset your BlackBerry PlayBook operating system.

I sometimes get these dropouts too. My WIFI network does not broadcast its SSID so I figured this may be the cause. On a regular WIFI network it works flawlessly. Did you have your WIFI network hidden (stop it from broadcasting it's SSID)?

How do I reset the operating system?  Will it reset everything back to the factory settings?

Hello. You can reset the Operating system with BlackBerry Desktop Software, everything will be restored if you backup your device first, which is highly recommended.
