I believe it has been preached. In many threads.

Some users have reported this reset their device and got it working.

You need to follow these instructions to "debrick" your PlayBook:
1. Do a backup of your PlayBook using your computer and BlackBerry Desktop Software version 7 installed. It can be downloaded from http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/
2. After the backup is finished, unplug the PlayBook and on the PlayBook press and hold down the power button until the unit forces the device off.
3. With the Desktop Software open on your computer and the PlayBook powered off, connect the PlayBook to your computer once again.

4. Press and hold the power button only, for 20 seconds.
You should see an error screen from Desktop Software popup with the options to Retry, Update, or Cancel.
Very quickly choose the Update option.
5. All information will on your PlayBook will be erased and a reload of the Software will commence to install on the PlayBook.
6. Once this is complete your PlayBook will go back through the initial (as if new) setup wizard (entering the BlackBerryID, etc., and then you can perform a restore using Desktop Software to return your personal data from the backup. Applications which you downloaded from AppWorld won't restore, but they can be easily reinstalled using AppWorld > MyWorld section of AppWorld.

Re: PlayBook will not charge, battery at 10% and icon shows charging

I did os update using DM but PB doesn't boot up after the reload of the os as the battery has no charge whatsoever.

So, l think finding a way to induce some charge is necessary.

Re: PlayBook will not charge, battery at 10% and icon shows charging

Me, I'd keep charging with a known good charger.

I'd get a rapid charger.

If all else fails, read this:

and ask questions about THAT process in that thread.

Re: PlayBook will not charge, battery at 10% and icon shows charging

This is exactly what is going on with my playbook right now. Battery symbol followed by solid yellowlight for about 3 seconds and then red light for 15 seconds or so. Any ideas?

Re: PlayBook will not charge, battery at 10% and icon shows charging

So I haven't been able to turn on the playbook. It just keeps repeating the battery symbol then green light then red light and then repeat. So when it was charging for the whole day, did it just keep repeating this same pattern? It's been plugged in repeating this for about 8 hours now and nothing has changed.

nessava_88, yes, keep charging. Every few hours press the power button for 20 seconds while the charger IS STILL connected.

Re: PlayBook will not charge, battery at 10% and icon shows charging

I have pressed the power button twice now in the past 15 hours and it makes the charging symbol go away and I have to press power again to make it start back up. Is this normal? Is there anything else I should try? Thanks for your help. I hope the symbol being there means that my playbook isn't completely dead

Re: PlayBook will not charge, battery at 10% and icon shows charging

OK, so I brave myself to flash 2.0.1 OS with CFP, it run till 100% and said done, but now I got double red led blink, pause double red blink, pause, and repeating. Have been looking around and found some people have the same issue but no clear answer ... not sure if it got worse or better than before ...
