I have purchased PB few days back and I am not able to change the screen brightness. I have tried disabling the auto-din feature and tried adjusting brightness from the battery icon. The slider goes from end to end but the brightness remains the same.
Also the sliders in Settings->Screen does not even move.
Did any one else face similar issue? How can this be resolved?

on Playbook press power button and both Vol + - buttons for 10 seconds to reboot it.
and see if it persists.

Not sure why your playbook wont , but i can adjust the screen brightness by touching the battery icon. What software version are you running?
Just interested in knowing what you find.

update: same issue as above. screen brightness very dim, and screen brightness toggles unresponsive. tried rebooting, power cycling, and reseting to no avail. security wipe device restored original OS. upon reboot accepted OS update, and screen brightness returned to normal. OS version 220.127.116.1167. I will be contacting BB support for RMA.

Sorry about your device, some faulty device is just inevitable.
Generally speaking, when something wrong happend to your PB, the first thing is try to reboot it by pressing both power button and voice button, this can get many things solved

@CCpotter: I already tried that and I was hoping it would but didnt work for me
Also I am seeing a constant green LED glowing near the front camera. Is that normal?
I saw some PB videos none of them shows the green light glowing, so there must be something wrong, but not sure what.
I am now trying a security wipe, will update once done.

apologies via, i did not record the default OS after security wipe. please let us know your result. RIM customer service cannot solve issue over the phone and provided RMA + sending replacement device should arrive tuesday.
