Playbook compatibility with 9800

Whenever I try to access my BBM on the playbook, the following message appears:

Blackberry Bridge plug-in for BBM does not exist, or your version of BBM does not support BlackBerryBridge.

I have the following versions:

 BBM: 6.0.0.129

Phone: 6.4.0.142

Playbook: 1.0.7.3312

In addtion I experience severe screen "hanging' - it takes up to 1 minute to react to any touch on the screen - this happens not consistently , but at least every 3 or 4 tap on the screen

THank you!!

Re: Playbook compatibility with 9800

Reboot your 9800 with a powered on battery pull...

Reboot your Playbook (or reset) by touching the battery symbol > Reset.

Now, try to pair the Bridge connection again.

That's not correct, there's not 6.4 for the 9800 device. Look at Options > > Device > About, third line down beginning with a "v.6.0.x.xxx", What is yours?

Thank you!!! The BBM advice worked!!! It is now connected. The only challenge now is the delayed screen action

You're welcome.

You might consider upgrading to the most recent 6.0.0.668 official OS release for the 9800, and that might help fix the lag time on the screen action.

See the link below for the download, and follow these simple installation instructions.

First locate your carrier and the OS file you wish to use.
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

Do a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion.

1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.
