It's an issue if your router uses "outlawed" protocols. Make sure the router is set up for WPA2 (AES) encryption and you should be OK.
802.11g will also happily run on WPA which is what I use with no problems, ever.
Many routers come with (WPA+WPA2), some maybe with WEP or TKIP on 802.11n, and both are disaster for Playbooks because of the new licensing regulations.
