Recently my playbook's screen would flicker to black screen while I was online or playing a game. The screen would go black but you could still see what was going on if you looked really hard. Do I need to be in better light or something getting blocked or is it something more serious? thanks.

I often wondered about that too.  Same can apply with some battery problems. 

Using nylon ipod opening pry-tools and credit cards, and taking a few minutes opening the back can avoid too much damage.

Voids the warranty of course!
