Re: Playbook freezing

Apparantly we are on our own for the most part.

The part that gets me is that for every problem that the software updates fix, they seem to break something else.

I am in a position where I can reccomend these to people (sales) and I won't yet.  My experience since day one (I had mine the day before they were officially released) has been underwhelming.  I keep hoping they will get it right, but it doesn't seem to happen.

Re: Playbook freezing

I purchased my first Playbook which froze, to the point I thought it was broken. I took it back to Currys who replaced it. My second one froze, but I was told that it happened after bridging with my Torch, as this was a software fault, which would be rectified by Rim, in the next software release.

Problem is that it wasn't and hasn't yet been sorted.

A major issue unless they do something quickly

Re: Playbook freezing

some people have reported to have solved the issue by deleting BlackBerry Bridge on the smartphone then re-installing it.

Re: Playbook freezing

Hi, thanks for your comments which I find most informative. I have a problem of the PB frequently freezing on me. This especially happens when I try to open emails with attachments or video files. The battery is fully charged (I never let it go below 75%), yet the system just hangs and becomes unresponsive. I then have to re-boot by pressing down on the Power & Vol +/- buttons for 10 secs and then all is fine. This happens at least 4-5times a day and is getting to be annoying. I'm also afraid I am damaging the system with frequent resets. The technical guys told to reload the latest software, which I did (OS1.0.7.2670) - yet the problem persists. The other apps work just fine, so I'm beginning to feel its a problem with the bridge. Any suggestions?

Re: Playbook freezing

After reviewing the responses to the freezing issue, I have removed the BlackBerry Bridge software on my BlackBerry Torch and re-installed it again with the latest BlackBerry Bridge software. On trying to Bridge with my Playbook, it has frozen first time, so it is clear that this solution is not working. I think it's high time the team at RIM who must know of this issue, made a global statement about what they are doing, because I paid a lot of money for a device that at present is not fit for purpose, either as a consumer tool and certainly not as a commercial tool.

I will today send a copy of this posting into the London Office of RIM and ask to be forwarded to Canada Head Office
