Playbook won't accept a charge

When I plug my PB into a wall charger that I know works (it charges my Torch just fine), I can't get my PB to charge at all.  The lightening bolt symbol doesn't appear nor does the indicator light do anything.  I've tried a USB charger and a second wall charger; I've tried to hold the power button for 20 seconds and the power + Volume up/down buttons for 20 seconds.  Nothing seems to work.  Anyone have any ideas??

Is this using the OEM PlayBook Charger?

 

A normal, similar BlackBerry smartphone charger does not have the power to charge a PlayBook.

 

So, use the OEM charger shipped with the PlayBook.

I've tried the OEM charger that came with it and there is no difference.  The PB doesn't acknowledge that anything has been plugged into it.

I wonder how many similar posts there will be here and in Crackberry before a comprehensive KB article is produced? More complaints day after day after day....

Dan, LEAVE it connected to the wall outlet charger (not the USB > PC charger).
Leave it connected for 24 hours... every 3-5 hours, press and hold the power button only for about 20 seconds. Eventually it will boot on up, but first must reach a certain charge level.
You will see the blinking red and perhaps yellowish LED light, and perhaps a symbol on screen of "no battery". That means the battery is drained, but it must reach a certain charge before powering on.

I hope not, because if the user has inserted the USB cable in upside down, they've very likely broken the USB port on the Playbook. It will only insert in one direction.

It boots up currently because it still has some battery life in it.  That's how I can tell that there is no lightning bolt symbol appearing when I plug it in and yes I'm plugging it in poperly :smileyhappy:  The charge is steadily decreasing but I will try leaving it plugged in for 24 hours though and booting it every 3-5.
