I am really needing some help. I am not technical at all. Basically, my playbook is used for reading. I plug it into the wall charger that came with it.
Anyhow, I saw that there was an update that needed to be done so I did it. My playbook was fully charged. No, problems with the update itself. I used it for a couple of days while away and when I got back home I went to place it on the charger....now it won't charge. I have checked and there is no further update.
I have about 13% battery life remaining. I have tried holding the volumn + and the power button but all that does is turn it on. I have been reading that once you let your battery drop to 0 then basically your playbook is useless.
Can someone tell me how to fix this issue and why it has done this?

That's a misconception.
Leave the device to charge connected to your OEM wall outlet charger. Leave it several hours. The PlayBook can be off or on, doesn't matter.

That is the problem. I has been sitting on my charger for 3 days now and it won't charge. The light will not come on as it did before to indicate it was charging. I thought maybe my "light" went out and so I turned on the playbook, and it was still at the same level, now a bit lower, than it was before.
I have tried my husband's blackberry playbook charger and the same thing. He has not updated and we won't until we figure out what happened to mine.
I really enjoy this tablet as it meets my needs of reading and the occasional picture. I just want it to charge again.

I wonder if there's something wrong with your USB port on the PlayBook?
Keep it charging. Don't disconnect. Press ONLY the power button and nothing else for 20 seconds.
Do you see any red LED blink?

Yes, it blinks on then goes off as it starts booting up. Once booted, nothing indicating it is charging.
I am sure there is nothing wrong with the port as it is protected in my case. I have to take it out of the case to charge it in the first place.

wait a second.

So it does boot up fully?
Leave it to charge. Why are you then turning it off?

Just leave it on and let it charge fully...
Or, are you saying that once it is on, the charging symbol never appears over the battery icon?

Correct, once on the charger symbol never appears over the battery icon.

Unplug and replug.. nothing?
You probably have a damanged USB port, like I said above.
Can you try a different charger? Make certain it is of at least 750 mAh
