Firstly Knottyropes suggestion (a de-brick) requires the playbook to be off!  

Secondly his remedy is your last chance before concluding that the battery is dead or disconnected. After that it's repair time. If it's out of warranty you could lever off the back abd disconnect then reconnect the battery terminal (2 small screws) as repair would cost the price of a new tablet. Replacing batteries is not cost effective even if you could source one

Contact RIM. Before shipping it to them do a backup of your files to your computer. Talk nice to the Customer Service. You can accomplish more with a teaspoon of honey than a gallon of vinegar.

i also have this problem, but my wallplug doesn't work, i have to plug the pb into my pc o get it to go on... i'm in South Africa... let me know if there is any way to fix this...
