Quick Mystery-Concerning Music Player

So what I've notice is inside the BBPlaybook folder, some new music folder + mp3 files which I put in the BBplaybook,  may not identify a few mp3 clips.  So for example, an album which should have 10 songs, may have the 8th-10th song identified, and the first two songs, their names/titles are easily found amoung "All Songs" but their artists and albums are unknown.

I have used, WMP to identify the mp3 files too, which I'm very sure is identified as there is an album art on top of the icon instead of just an mp3 icon.  So its very puzzling for me, that the music player is not able to identify the songs, when they already have album name, artist name, year, and etc. identified.

Any clue to why this is happening? I liked the quality of the player but I'm getting disspointed with this identification stupidity.

Re: Quick Mystery-Concerning Music Player

I keep each albulm in a folder so the pic is seen on the song.

if you copy 50 random songs with no folders, it will assume the std pic unless it is embedded in the MP3 file.

Re: Quick Mystery-Concerning Music Player

Now thats what I've been doing but weird things keep happening

For example AC/DC album, its completely in its album folder, with std pic. Completely verified by WMP, that its good and awesome, and belongs in all its categories. BUT after transfer, the first two songs may have album art in "All Songs" and title, but all other info is unknown despite that it should be known. Also, not identified with "Albums" so when there should be 10 songs in the AC/DC album only 8 show up, when evidently its on the playbook.

Also, I sorta came up with an solution but its very inefficient. I remake the mp3, sometimes with itunes or adobe. And after MANY remakes from the original, BBplaybook finally understands 'oh its this AC/DC' song with its details. I hope to find a solution to this as its bumming me out that I got a bucket load of songs I'd like but its terrible if I have to verify that everyone gets a green card from the playbook.

So is it possibly the BBplaybook software's fault? cause WMP or Itunes on my comp has no problem figuring it out.

*side observance, I noticed ripped lossless versions of the songs had 100% fail rate of being identified when being synced+random music.

Re: Quick Mystery-Concerning Music Player

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with long names or characters,

As I said, with my temporary solution. A few songs I found being redone in Itunes, after several times, same re-identification through WMP and with the same name afterwards, it sometimes gets finally accepted.

Hence I find this quite puzzling.

Re: Quick Mystery-Concerning Music Player

I have found that behavior like this is always down to the tags of the MP3. It makes no difference whatsoever where you store those files on your PlayBook.

I would suggest loading the MP3 files into a tag editor such as mp3tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/) and checking that each song has the exact same album and artist text. EXACTLY the same.

That will fix the problem.
