I have had no problem establishing internet connection via Wi Fi for my PlayBook in the States.
I wish to take tablet only with me to Europe. Can I obtain internet connection in European countries as well ? If so, how?

In the same way you did in the states, we're not that different over here ;-)
find a wifi hot spot, open up the wifi settings, hit the wifi name and enter any security details
