 did try this and it worked for a while and then suddenly the devices would not connect.

 

Generally it happens when the devices have been apart for a few hours.

Unfortunately as I am in the UK I was asked to ring Support in the States. The cost is prohibitive so I gave it a miss with the plan that when launched in the UK I will be able to make a local call!

 

However since then, and was going to update when certain in the next day or so, it appears that the reconnection problem may well be an issue with my Torch where the BT appears to turn off when left for a period. Looking at the check box in settings it appears to be on but the icon on the screen is dimmed. Turning BT of and on again prompts the icon back into life and connects to my PlayBook!

 

I have had a few occasions where I thought I had resolved this issue but this one does appear to be 'working'!
