Skype still missing on the PlayBook -

the PB is great but missing - Skype

Many companies have failed by focusing on the supply and not the demand.

Over 20 years ago, on a flight to the Maritimes, I sat beside a fellow in the grocery business who said that a Canadian grocery chain recently, at that time, went belly up because they got great low costs agreements with suppliers. As an example, they went only with Pepsi (or Coke - can't remember the specifics) at a very low price.
So, those who wanted Coke (or Pepsi) got P___ off and stopped shopping there

It's a no-brainer - The demand for Skype is there

RIM had better pay attention

A quote for CkrackBerry

>>I work at a retail store and every person that's about to buy the PB asks if it has skype, once they figure out it doesn't yet, they sort of move on. Some do buy, but that's because I push the PB.<<

Re: Skype still missing on the PlayBook -

Hi,

Totally agree. And NOTHING about Skype at Blackberry World 2012???

RIM; what is the state of affairs (about Skype)?

Has not anyone asked that question during Blackberry 2012?

Re: Skype still missing on the PlayBook -

So why does RIM not actively lobby Skype?

It is withing RIM's interest to have Skype on the PB. It seems to be on many of the other BlackBerry products.

Why do we have to go thru this again. Skype is not going to be developed for the pb. So why start another thread.

Re: Skype still missing on the PlayBook -

Not everyone has been on the message board for the whole year. New users sign in every day and come here off the official blackberry board. They don't know that this is not an official black berry sight.
And in this case the user in fact did do a SEARCH to find this thread.
Please refrain from the sarcastic moaning an trolling about posting. As a forum veteran you should probably know better.
A tip for the admin here would be to tag an official discussion on this subject in the stickies at the top of the forum page, this way forum veterans would be so put out by this topic.
Thanks

Re: Skype still missing on the PlayBook -

I believe that Microsoft Corporation acquired Skype last year. What does Research in Motion have to do with this?
