Software update installation failures

On my Playbook I have downloaded the latest software update V2.1.0.1314, however the installation process crashes at the 20% mark.  Why is this occuring?  What can I do to get the software installed?

Can you try updating it this way?

I am attempting to update my blackberry PlayBook from ver. 2.1.0.1314 to 2.1.0.1526. It downloads ok, but install fails at various points from 30 to 97%. If I try using the computer and desktop manager, it downloads but within 30 seconds of starting the install I get a fatal error message and the install aborts. many many attempts have been tried.

I just completed updating both if our PlayBooks.  Installation took a long time,  it seemed to stall at various points, but I just left it alone and had a glass of wine.  At the end both installations completed and the  units work fine.

This is the update that I can't get to work. 2.1.0.1526. It installs partially, then says you're installation has been interrupted and I have to start all over again. Wouldn't be so bad if it saved the download, but it starts all over again.

Dumb questions; do you have enough juice in the battery and have a good strong wifi link?

 

If so, you will need to upgrade using the BlackBerry software on you PC and connect using a USB cable to get things rolling again. The full procedure is documented on this board.

Please read my original post. If I try using the PC I get a fatal error message during install. My wifi is fine the download is fine, it's the installation that fails.

Have you tried restarting the playbook and attempt the update again?  I was able to update my playbook using wifi while it was connected to the wall charger.
