My Playbook starts up in several minutes. Watching my friend's iPad start up, I had thought that it was on Standby. It was not, and only took about a second to have a working screen after pressing the On button.
That, to me, is an amazing difference. It should be dealt with, even if, when working, the Playbook is good at its job.

I am not trying to defend RIM...they should have fixed this issue a loooong time ago....
but in the typical scenario you would only need to restart once a week...even if...so doesn't bother me personally.
but to call PB a junk just because it loads slower is just ridiculous...

To Sohrabza,
It's odd that you seem not to have to worry about battery life!
I find that, because I cycle everywhere, that I go to places where a charging socket is not close by, I have to shut the Playbook down often during the day. Currently, where I am each day for the current week, there is no charging facility and I consequently find the tablet dies far too quickly were I to leave it even on Standby.
The restart time is a joke compared to several other tablets, including Android versions. And, with the battery life, it does become a problem.

I never turn mine off. i charge it about every other day unless I use it alot.
Startup time is a bit long, but then again it is built on security. the startup time increased for sandboxing andriod apps.
hopefully they can impove the start up time when they release os 2.1.
