Tablet Not Recognized on Computer

After upgrading to Blackberry Desktop Software V6.1.0.35, my Playbook is no longer recognized by the computer.  There was an issue during the initial install of the software and I had to reboot the system during the install.  Since then I have uninstalled the software, uninstalled and deleted the BB drivers and directories.  I've even done a registry search and destroy to no avail.

I have reinstalled the software several times and it still will not recognize the Playbook as being connected and will not mount the drive.  The RIM Network Device does show up in Device Manager and BB Desktop will start when I plug the tablet in, but it does not show up in the desktop software and will not mount the Playbook as a drive.

This only happens on one of my three computers.  The other two work fine.

How do I fix my issue?

BB Device Manager V6.0.0.30

BBDevMgr 4.2.0.12

RIM USB Driver 4.2.0.12

Playbook RNDIS Driver 1.0.0.16

Unfortunately I don't have a solution, I am experiencing the same problem.  If someone has an answer that would be appreciated.

Goto Device Manager
goto Network Adapters
click the plus sign & find

Research In Motion Network Device

 

it should HAVE A YELLOW EXCLAMATION POINT NEXT TO IT
Right click it and select update driver software

Click browser my computer for device software

Then clcik Let me pick from from a list of device drivers on my computer
Click the Have disk button
click browse

goto c:\windows\inf
find and select oem50.inf
then click next
It will install the driver and recognize the playbook

attempted this, but oem50.inf does not exist on my computer.

I recently acquired a Playbook and had the same issue on two of our laptops running XP and Vista.

 

Calling the Blackberry Playbook support line fixed my problem. You may try this.

 

Reboot your Playbook

Turn the WiFi connexion to off on it

 

On your computer, disable the firewall

Plug the Playbook with the USB cable

 

It did it for me. From that point on, a drive letter appeared on my computer windows file explorer and the Desktop Software was then also able to establish connexion with the Playbook.

 

I have to follow this procedure each time I want to connect USB with the computer.

i have had similar issues on a mac, sometimes it will see it other times it won't, my work around was to by pass the desktop software and load whatever i wanted using the playbook as an external drive, just need to make sure u drop your files in the right dir

It doesn't appear as a drive though, which is the problem that I've been running into.

A lot of people have been sending in helpful advice that I'm going to attempt today though, I'll let you know how it goes.
