Is it possible to tether my Playbook to my Nokia E71? One would think the ability to tether the PlayBook to non- BBerry phones would allow RIM to reach a wider consumer market.

Hey godot2011,
Only BlackBerry smartphones can be tethered with the BlackBerry PlayBoook.

You mean Bridge.
How to setup Bluetooth Internet Tethering on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet
snip:
Note: In order to setup Bluetooth Internet Tethering on the BlackBerry PlayBook the mobile device must support Bluetooth® Dial-Up Networking (DUN).
No where does it say only a BlackBerry Smartphone.

Don't get me wrong, I understand "family ties", however your answer is still a disappointment. The Bluetooth of the E71 supports DUN. The Bluetooth feature in the PlayBook supposed to support DUN. Why can't the two be connected?
By the way I can't connect to my PC either using Bluetooth (cable is OK). The PlayBook was happy to be paired with the PC and the E71 but it will not connect to either.

Yes, the E71 can connect to the PC (Windows 7) using Bluetooth. I can see the files in the phone, in the micro SD and I can move/copy folders or selected content back and forth between the two devices except E71 system files. This can be done without opening Ovi Suite, Nokia's version of the BlackBerry Desktop. Just using Windows Explorer.
If I open Ovi Suite I can also connect to Ovi/PC via Bluetooth (or USB cable) and synchronize contents. I expected the same (similar) sync functions between the Playbook and my notebook. As I said the Bluetooth connection from my PlayBook does not connect to the PC either.
Thanks for your help.
