Touch Screen not working after sleep

Hi All,

Does anybody know how to get the touch screen working after a sleep?

The only thing that works are the buttons on the top so I have to restart in order to carry on using the Playbook.

Thanks,

Tom

Does this occur any time after the PlayBook has gone to sleep?

What is the OS installed on the device at Settings > Software update?

***********
You need to follow these instructions to "debrick" your PlayBook:
1. Do a backup of your PlayBook using your computer and BlackBerry Desktop Software version 7 installed. It can be downloaded from http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/
2. After the backup is finished, unplug the PlayBook and on the PlayBook press and hold down the power button until the unit forces the device off.
3. With the Desktop Software still open on your computer and the PlayBook powered off, connect the PlayBook to your computer once again.
4. You should see an error screen from Desktop Software popup with the options to Retry, Update, or Cancel.
Very quickly choose the Update option.
5. All information will on your PlayBook will be erased and a reload of the Software will commence to install on the PlayBook.
6. Once this is complete your PlayBook will go back through the initial (as if new) setup wizard (entering the BlackBerryID, etc., and then you can perform a restore using Desktop Software to return your personal data from the backup. Applications which you downloaded from AppWorld won't restore, but they can be easily reinstalled using AppWorld > MyWorld section of AppWorld.

Re: Touch Screen not working after sleep

You did not go into much detail however this is what might be happening..

If you last used BB bridge to remotely control your PB or used your phone as a mouse your PB keyboard is still pointed at your phone.

Simply use Bridge from your phone to type in your pass on your PB to access it again.

OR go onto your phone select remote control from bridge and unlock your PB then remember to disconnect bridge remote control or it it will appear as though you PB is unresponsive because the KB is pointed at your phone and not the touch screen.

Re: Touch Screen not working after sleep

Good suggestion about whether remote control is enabled.

Re: Touch Screen not working after sleep

Thanks for the replies,

I have just  got the device and have only done minimal things with it including a software update, not done any integration with the phone or other devices.

Re: Touch Screen not working after sleep

are you aware of the swipe gesture to wake your PlayBook up ?

--> use your finger, put it on the border of the screen near the volume buttons, and swipe with your finger to the opposite border.

this is the common way to get out of the "stand by"/"locked" mode.

Re: Touch Screen not working after sleep

Hi,

I am aware of the swipe to unlock. But the screen is still frozen.
