Updated Version of Playbook cannot connect to POP server.

My first post! Help please.  I updated the Playbook with the latest version.  I have been able to integrate my GMail account.   However it will not allow me to add a POP account.  I have called my internet provider (Cogeco) and have verified I am using the correct Incoming and Outgoing Server address and ports......nothing works:smileysad:.  The tech support also told me he had three other people call him tonight with the same issue that cannot be resolved.  I have seen a post on how to add a Rogers account so maybe someone could help me set up with Cogeco being my internet provider.

Re: Updated Version of Playbook cannot connect to POP server.

I dad no issues connecting to a pop. I had to go to add email, advanced then pop and type it in manually. But it worked, had an issue with the pb suggesting sale on both incoming and outgoing email, did turn that off. Incomming=port110 outgoing=port25

Re: Updated Version of Playbook cannot connect to POP server.

Frustrating to say the least.  I'm not sure but I believe it is cogeco related some how.  Their email meshes poorly when ever I have tried to transport my emails and contacts with other email accounts.  I have decided just to change my email to yahoo and live which works realy well  with the playbook.  It would be nice for rim to give us a fix.  Mine did work but then didn't so I'm not sure why that is.  I also got a friends working but not sure if it sill is as they don't use it much.

If you have a newer book you should be able to get a ticket from your service provider for a free session with Rim support.

my email is working again. one thing that I missed above was that I left the smtp user name blank too.
