Updating tablet os...taking forever!

I'M JUST UPDATING THE BLACKBERRY TABLET OS AND IT IS TAKING FOREVER TO JUST INSTALL MODULE 1...ALMOST 45 MINUTES NOW...MY COMPUTER IS WORKING AND NOT FROZEN...IS THIS TYPICAL OF AN UPDATE? CAN I TURN OFF MY COMPUTER AND MAYBE RESTART IT?

Re: Updating tablet os...taking forever!

I'm not sure of your definition of 'forever' but I'd advise you to leave it connected and updating as it... I've seen it take several hours for a 300bm+ upgrade.

Are you updating wirelessly, or via the BlackBerry Desktop software?

I have not done an update via DM but I know it is a lengthy process compared to OTA.

Re: Updating tablet os...taking forever!

Technically, that's not wireless, if you're doing it through the Desktop Software (even if your laptop is connected via wifi, that would make it even slower, I suspect).

Let it sit.

Re: Updating tablet os...taking forever!

Do you think there would be an issue if my laptop was using Windows 8? It's still trying to install Module 1..

Re: Updating tablet os...taking forever!

Did your laptop and BBDesktop Software connect and recognize the PlayBook?

if yes, then your Windows is not a problem.

Still hanging....what would happen if my Playbook runs out of battery? I never checked it before updating.
