Using Bridge question

In the middle of installing the bridge between my torch and playbook it tells me that if I continue emails won't be sent to my smartphone anymore. Is this for real or only if the bridge is on assuming that I can turn the bridge on and off? I'm not sure I want to do this. I also use AT&T as my provider. Is this an issue?

Thanks...
