Where can I get Playbook USB drivers?

Hi

I downloaded PC software and can sync my BB handset to my PC.

When I attach my Playbook also via USB I am asked for drivers...

Where can I download these please?

Re: Where can I get Playbook USB drivers?

Carefully read the instructions on the playbook screen when you plug it into the pc.  The drivers are now located on the playbook itself and can be installed from there.

Re: Where can I get Playbook USB drivers?

possible you need to uninstall Device Manager, not Desktop Software.

Disconnect the PB from the computer.
Uninstall the Device Manager.
Reboot your computer (for good measure)
Connect the PB using the USB cable.
Now you should see a PlayBook CD-ROM.
In that CD-ROM you will find version 7 of the Device Manager, install it.
Once installed disconnect the PB from the computer.
Wait for about 15 seconds then plug it back in.
Windows should detect new device and start Device Manager. It may take up to two minutes for windows to detect and properly install.
Then device manager will map 'z' drive to the PB.

Re: Where can I get Playbook USB drivers?

Thanks.

I dont have device manager installed.

I am also on old OS on the tablet.

That may be the issue????

When I plug the USB in, the message on the Playbook says, "open driver file on PC"

Re: Where can I get Playbook USB drivers?

If you have and older version of Windows, the driver doesn't work.  You will initially be able to see the PB, download the driver and desktop software from the PB and then ... nothing.  The driver file downloaded from the PB, or downloaded from RIM just doesn't work under most XP configs as far as I can tell.  It works on Win7 (my wifes laptop) but not my XP desktop.

I have tried all the options, deleted old drivers, cleared registry, uninstalled and reinstalled newer versions of everything, just doesn't work I'm afraid.

BTW, my PB has latest OS and all updates.

Desktop manager 7 has been released and hopefully fixes this issue.

Re: Where can I get Playbook USB drivers?

Even with a clean install of Desktop 7, I can't get the PB connected to an XP desktop.

By clean, I mean uninstall all BB software, scrub the registry 'till it shines, re-install in recommended order.

I have also tried deleting drivers and reinstalling them, all to no avail.  RIM should have made it a standard USB connection rather than a network drive... probably.

Re: Where can I get Playbook USB drivers?

Pretty sure it's "Device Manager" that needs to be uninstalled and re-installed - in case you didn't uninstall it specifically.
