Re: WiFi connection dropping

Hi gHenry,
It is hard to imagine that the case would affect wifi much. But I never try and connect with PB in it's case and still have problems with sensitivity.
It seems to me that it will take more than a software upgrade to improve the wifi and gps reception. It would take a hardware upgrade. If that means a complete new PB, few of us would do that with all the alternatives available. And yes, the bootup time is crazy. This type of device should be instant on. It is of course if we leave it on standby. Perhaps that is the answer to that deficiency.

By the way, I am still within my free support period, so I have emailed Support to ask about the comparatively weak wifi and gps reception.

Re: WiFi connection dropping

Good luck with Support.

In fairness to RIM, while my Playbook was still in the complimentary support period they took it back to the European Service Centre in Germany. The downside was that they could not find any fault with it!
