WiFi connection

Old ADSL modem died, bought a different one, a TP-Link TD-W8961ND, 300Mbps wired/wireless. It's working for the adsl/cable connector to the wired router to my AD network. It works wirelessly for my HP laptop, and for my iPod. The modem did take me some time to set up, but now it's working well.

Why, therefore, when I put in the password for my Playbook, access fails every time?  I check the laptop wireless connection details, Windows 7, to determine what the password is. The iPod simply asked for the password and bingo, it's working.

What is up with the Playbook? What picky little command am I missing? Can find no reason for this, which is, for a wireless tablet, a disaster.

what manual is it referring to, and if all three other connections work, why should I mess with that situation?

It is refering to your router manual. See "Consult the manual for the wifi access point..."

"Overview
Wi-Fi® connections are not supported to any Wi-Fi Alliance Draft11n certified access point that is set in 802.11n-only mode with TKIP or WEP advertised.

This is a requirement for the BlackBerry® Playbook™ to achieve 802.11n certification and applies to any wifi-enabled device certified for 802.11n.  Consult the manual for the wifi access point for instructions on how to disable TKIP or WEP as necessary."

Ah, so they have. Oh well, nothing really lost.

Regardless, the OP's question and answer remain intact.

That link refers to the technical matters related in this Wiki page. (Not easy for the usual owner of a Playbook to understand, plainly.)

Re: WiFi connection

Only three or four times out of ten does this appear when in range of the adsl modem. Nothing I do alters whatever it decides, and it's not sentient.
