Re: any Rogers Wireless customers in the house? Teathering and Bridge Browser

I'm with Rogers and have no issues using Bridge browser or tethering and using the normal browser.

l went to speedtest.net and I got 1.5 mbps -which isn't that bad- with my tethered browser.

I get 80 Mbps on my home line (don't ask - I know it is blindingly fast). My results on speedtest.net on my WiFi is 10 mbps - which is scary fast for the tablet (nice to know it can get that fast).

I hope that helps.

My PB speedtest via the bridge was 64kbps   You will agree that this is EXTRAORDINARILY SLOW right?   Any suggestions?  I'm with Telus.

Not certain. Try ensuring that you don't have other programs sucking up bandwidth.

How many bars do you have?

What city? What is your phone showing? GSM, EDGE,edge, 3G, etc....

There are a lot of variables - try checking in multiple places - reception plays a very large part of speed.

Re: any Rogers Wireless customers in the house? Teathering and Bridge Browser

Just tested wifi speedtest   download 4.43 mbps   /   upload 0.81 mbps

bridge would not load.   my problem is the bridge!!!!

when in bridge, is it the number of bars that is important or the strength of wifi on the phone?

Re: any Rogers Wireless customers in the house? Teathering and Bridge Browser

I'm officially fed up with RIM and Playbook. My playbook no longer works - the keyboard will no longer switch to numeric so I can no longer input my password.

Ii think I will put it away for the next few days.

I just can't deal with a product that refuses to work!

as for your issue - you don't seem to understand the difference between tethering and bridge - there is a BIG difference.
